I have been building innovative networks since the early 1990s

In the early 1990s I developed creative ways to use existing phone cables in listed buildings to network computers.

In the mid 1990s I was using emerging wireless technologies to replace analog links in mining sites.

In the late 1990s I started WAs first broadband ISP using re-purposed military radios that operated in the ISM band.

When Zigbee was first developed I was delighted to find a truly low power short range alternative to Wi-Fi.

LORA is the answer if the question is 'How can I link devices that are kilometers apart with a limited power budget'.

Home and Business Automation

  • I have years of experience creating wide area networks. These can be made from WI-FI or LORA. Local networks can be Bluetooth or Zigbee. The type of network is determined by your bandwidth and power usage requirements.
  • I can create a LORA network that will cover your farm and tell you which gates are open and the level of your water tanks. It can also enable you to remotely open and close gates or control pumps or any other electrical device. I build my systems to be solar-powered, and they use LFP batteries that will last for around 10 years when correctly designed.
  • If you have a home or business on a small property, I can set up a WI-FI/Zigbee network that will allow you to remote control or monitor anything. Do you want your heating system to only run when the sun is shining or need your electric car to charge with excess solar?
  • I can also design and build large LFP and solar batteries systems for off-grid or industrial applications. You can choose from off-the-shelf solutions or custom-built solutions that are generally about 40% the cost of off-the-shelf options.
  • I am a consultant first. Although I can supply hardware when required, I can also enable you to purchase directly from the manufacturers which can save you a lot of money.
